Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Lake Waconia Triathlon

OK I know I'm behind in my blogs so now I'll try to catch up without summarizing too much :)

The Waconia Tri was a definite challenge. I heard the lake was often choppy but I was not necessarily prepared for the 3ft swells with white caps that I had to brave on the way out. Yikes. The only way I know to explain how hard that swim was is that it took me 21:32 at Waconia and I swam the same distance the weekend before at the Minnetonka tri in 15:38.....yeah it sucked to say the least. I even heard that somewhere around 50 people started but didn't complete the swim.
Results here if you are interested in checking out my details. I landed 8 out of 12 in my age group and 327 out of 431 overall.
The picture above was from after the race. My fellow Team StayPut athlete Melissa also raced Waconia. I originally met her at the Girls on the Run event where we got to be "stylists" together.
Dana and Spring were also at the race as spectators and it was great having them there to cheer me in. I was beyond tired! Unfortunately none of us won any Gear West prizes this time :)
