I know I haven't written for awhile but this is going to be a short entry since I have to get to bed. Early swim tomorrow since our usual pool is closed for maintenance.
So I decided tonight I would go to the gym, run to warm up, strength train and then sit on the recumbent bike with my book and keep and eye on the Wild game. As I was nearing the end of my strength training, this younger couple comes in with their two daughters. Probably like 5 and 7 years old. I don't mind kids for the most part and sometimes I can tolerate them in my gym if they are controlled by their parents but these two girls proceeded to talk loudly with each other while going back and forth on the cardio machines and flipping the station from the Wild game to High School Musical and cranking the volume. I look (glare) to the parents......and they do nothing!!!! So I was less pissed at the kids and more pissed at the parents for obviously not considering anyone else at the gym tonight. Keep in mind this is a SNAP fitness so it's a small space. Luckily they were only there for about 30 minutes but I can't tell you how close I was to saying something to the parents. The hair on the back of my neck was straight out. I just wanted a nice, quiet spin while reading my book, is that too much to ask? Ugh! So the first 15 minutes were not so peaceful but after they left I quickly re-muted the TV and flipped back to watch the Wild unfortunately lose their game.
Saturday I am volunteering as a course marshall for the Monster Dash 5k/Half Marathon. Should be fun to be a volunteer for once. Plus I earn points towards Team Ortho races that eventually add up to free race entries in their series.

You'll have fun volunteering at the race. It's really a very different point of view and you get to see everyone. Plus, all the free food isn't bad either. ;-)
Sorry for your gym experience. Not all parents are jackasses.
A workout is supposed to be a stress reducer, not accelerator. On behalf of the parents everywhere who understand that, I apologize for those who don't.
Looks like a wet morning tomorrow. What is it with you liking races in the rain? ;)
I'll see you at the Monster Dash! Sorry about your workout -- that's super annoying!
Hi Kriss,
Great page and blog. I'm an amature at this compared to you.
