Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Back to the Pool and a New Job

Quick update.....after two months off from swimming, Mark and I managed to get our butts out of bed for the 6:30am session this morning.   It actually felt a little awkward for a few laps and a LOT tiring but we both survived and hope to stay in the rhythm of swimming 2x per week.

We have been doing a little running and NO biking :D :D  (still excited to be away from that damn piece of equipment).   Unfortunately the new Tri frame I thought I was going to get and make work from the Foundation ISN'T going to work.   There are major parts issues and I'm just going to have to give it back.  Damn it...    Plus I guess I feel like I need to give it back for a second reason....

I HAVE A FULL TIME JOB!!!   Yes folks, I have accepted a full time position as the Administrative Assistant at ZapEvent.com.   I'll make it a short story and say that I wasn't really actively looking for work and just sort of happened upon this opportunity.   The situation is that the Foundation can't offer me a full-time position and without a full week, I can't keep my bills paid without collecting partial unemployment.   And that runs out in January.   So I am officially done with the Miracles of Mitch Foundation next Thursday.   I'm starting at Zap tomorrow.  Putting in a few days trying to get setup around my Foundation hours.

I'm excited and nervous.   I am going to have to get into a true morning routine again,  And commute again.  Maybe even become a bus rider from time to time.  The office is just inside downtown Minneapolis on the west side so I'll definitely have to learn to deal with rush house.  But I already have my parking space :)   It's going to cause Mark and I to "juggle" our routines quite a bit more to make things work but we'll figure it out.   Workouts are likely going to have to be in the mornings (to be successful and/or not skipped in the evening) so we'll have to get our butts out of bed a little earlier but he's willing to make it work with me for getting to the gym and continuing to swim.   Best...guy...ever...

I am SO excited about my new job, don't ever doubt that.   But I am nervous about getting in my workouts.   I'm used to quite a bit of flexibility and now time is going to be a lot less flexible.  I'm going to have the three days off before Thanksgiving so if I'm really ambitious, I may kick start my body by spending those three days in the gym.

Good for you! Glad things are working out. Keep your chin up and keep chasing your dreams. Grounding yourself once in a while in the real world is okay, but keep dreaming for sure!
