Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Full Speed

So at 5:45am on a Friday, the last thing my mind could comprehend was the words "full speed" associated with anything my body was supposed to be doing. Today "full speed" was written all over our swim workout and it was very trying but was a good workout. We basically did a nice long warm up and then had a few slow 50's followed by a few full speed 50's and we went back and forth between recovery and full speed about 6 times. My heart rate was about 185 at the end of the last fast 50. Yikes, that was tough but I feel good that I survived and finally feel like I'm back from being off for a few weeks.
Tomorrow is our TNT Summer Season Kick-Off party. I just got the list of my mentees and I have 4 people I will be directly helping out this season. I'm excited and nervous to meet them really. Trying to decide what to talk about and how to best help them on our first day together. Training starts full throttle next week and I'm ready for it. Not ready for the soreness that comes with the first few weeks but putting my race calendar together and starting to put together my own training schedules is very exciting.
