Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Masters Swim (celebrating a birthday)

I spent most of my weekend slacking off as far as workouts. Wasn't my plan but in place of my workouts I got 95% of all my Xmas shopping done and watched a lot of football :)

Had a bit of a rough start to my morning unfortunately but also had a great swim. One of the other swimmers was celebrating her 40th birthday today so in her honor, we did 40-50s as our workout. Basically 2 sets of progressively faster 20s (8@1:10/6@1:05/4@1:00/2@:0:55 for the first set and then minus 5 seconds on each for the second set of 20). The reason my swim was great is because I made every one of my interval times. Our fastest laps today were 2-50s at 0:50 and I made them both at about 0:47. Really felt good! I think 40-50s are much better than 20-100s.

Sorry if that was incredibly foreign to anyone reading. Unless you swim that might make absolutely no sense at all :-P

Gotta get back to work now but I'll leave you with another link to the past.... here's a photo of my and my niece Nikki. She is a few years in remission from having leukemia and is my personal honoree for Team In Training (TNT) every year.
