OK so I'm hoping one or some of my training friends can tell me that I'm NOT a total slacker and falling behind in my off season work if this week I've only done 2 Masters swim sessions, 1 hour of slow zone 2 treadmill work and 45 minutes lower body lifting. = 3hr 45 min total
I feel like I haven't done enough this week and I know with Thanksgiving next week, it will likely be the same. (Plus about 5 pounds after I spend Thanksgiving at moms and stuff myself as usual)
And for my fellow peeps with IT band issues. I can tell mine is still tight but I can run on it. Chiropractor wants me to go get deep tissue done but that will have to wait until I have money....likely sometime in January :-P

From one slacker to another, rest and recovery should be part of any training routine. Taking a few days off (vs weeks or months) will actually HELP you instead of hurt you.
I'm not telling you anything you already don't know. I have a hard time living by that too though. I feel like I should be doing something every day, but know in the long term that isn't conducive to proper training.
You're doing enough...
