Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Twin Cities 1-Mile - 6:57

OK let me first start by saying....holy crap! Was not expecting these turtle legs of mine to pound out much below a 8:00 min/mile. Granted my average heart rate was 182 and I ended at 200bpm but that was just fun. I've never run this race before but I wanted to give it a try to 1) set a PR for a 1 mile sprint since I've never done it and 2) get a better chance at getting a spot in the TC 10-mile in the fall. Everyone that ran last night is entered into the lottery for the 10-mile and about 1/3rd of all runners will get entry.

It was a straight, flat course along Nicollet and luckily the group we ran in didn't force me to do much people-dodging. I don't have any pictures yet but hopefully the professional photographers caught one or two that I can post once they are online.

So here's the stats:
1-mile - 6:57 - average heart rate 182 - 729/2321 overall and 52/313 in my division (F19-29)

But I have to give a big thanks to my run partner for pulling me through likely faster than I would have done alone. You are the best! Thanks for the sub-7 :)
