Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Time Trialpalooza

So as it was raining this morning and I desperately wanted to get my workouts done this morning and have tonight OFF, I jumped on my trainer and put in Spinervals. 1:20 Time Trialpalooza which at first was entertaining because the crew he was training was mostly from Gear West and they were in the Plymouth Lifetime Fitness gym. In there was Tony, Kevin OConnor, Dan Cohen, Jeremy Sartain, David Thompson, Jan Guenther....too funny to see all these people I know from around here. Then the suffering began. 20 minutes on steady effort 95rpm, then 5 minutes off, then 15 min on 90 rpm, 5 minutes off, 10 minutes on, 5 minutes off, 5 minutes on and cool down.

OK I think that thoroughly solidified how weak I am on the bike. Granted I can't really directly compare myself to that group of athletes but they were holding on their big chain ring, midway down, 90+ rpms with a heartrate of 165+ and I was dying on my big chain ring, all the way at the top, 85rpms and my heartrate wasn't going past 148.

Argh!!! Not to mention I still have a very sore spot from the century ride on Sunday. Details aside it's not very pleasant :-P

Had the morning off from work again but we're meeting to swim at Foss at noon and then start recapping on how the first MiracleKids race went.
