Amidst the new snow I decided to venture outside for my 5 mile run today. The temperature was fine at 40 degrees but it was very annoying that some of the major roads did not have the sidewalks cleared off. I had to improvise on my route but it went ok. It took me up this one hill that I remember absolutely dreading when I started training two years ago. I used to have to mentally psych myself up before I got to that point. But today I was running towards the hill and I just stared at it going "really? this is what I used to dread? it's so small!" It gave me a good feeling :) First race (1/2 marathon) is coming up fast and the plan I am on has me running 8 miles as my long run this week. That DOES seem long but I know I can do it and be ready for the race. The half marathons I'm doing this year I'm not really going to be "racing" but more just trying to find a good pace to settle into and finish strong. By signing up for these things I'm forcing myself to train on my running more since that is where I've always been weak.

I'm anxiously waiting for warmer weather so we can start biking outside with the Tahoe team. We're hoping in another two weeks we can get on our bikes and out of the spin room. Lifetime is doing great. Dana, Becca and I have dubbed ourselves the "Tahoe Angels". (like Charlie's Angels) since everywhere we go, the three of us seem to always be together.
My niece Nikki is in town with my parents for her spring break so I'm hoping to get them to bring her to our Tahoe spin class tomorrow night. It was fun for us and her last year when she got to come meet the team and talk a little bit about her battle with leukemia.
So I think I need to end it here. With a cat on my shoulders that is making it difficult to type...I bid you Good Night :)
