Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Spring!

Well I finally got out for what I need to call a "long" run last Friday over my lunch break and it was so great to finally get outside and not be freezing cold. I went for 7 miles and finished in 1hr 13 min. Pretty pokey of a pace but I'm not going to get to stressed out over it. At this time last year I would have had a hard time just getting 7 miles out of myself so the fact that I kept moving is enough for me to be happy. I added a few races/events to my 2008 schedule and I'll try to update my list on here today. My reason behind putting in more miles and worrying less about speed is because I have put 3 half marathons and one full marathon on my schedule this year. Last year I only did one half marathon and probably no more than 6 miles running for any other event. I really want to try and improve my running and I'm convinced I just need to put in more miles.

Team in Training is going great. Both the Tahoe and Lifetime teams are full of great people and I've made a bunch of new friends. Spinning indoors and treadmill running is getting old though, I can't wait to take out bikes outside! Hopefully in another 2-3 weeks the Tahoe team will be heading outside. Lifetime ran hills on the Mississippi Road last Saturday. We estimate we did about 4 miles of hill repeats with some stair climbing too.
