Racing has become a very important part of my life. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of focus but results in a real sense of accomplishment and puts me in great shape. Sharing this information helps keep my mind in the game and lets you read about my experiences :)

Swimmers Only


So what does 900 + 600 + 300 equal? In my books, the answer is 36. For my fellow swimmers you will likely get what that means. That was our main training set for swim this morning. 2550 total. I won't say they were easy by any means but it was nice to get in some long distances just to know I can do it. I even managed to finish in the following times:
18:38 for the 900, 12:05 for the 600 and 5:44 for the 300.
I've been thinking since it is early yet in my season that I'm going to log some markers for myself so I can see any improvements between now and the end of the season. I think today's swim times will be good. Plus I'll write it here to have it logged......I think my best 50 so far was 0:44. Can't remember for sure but it's something like that :)

On another quick note, I managed to overlay my training schedules for the year. It looks like a mess but I feel like I'm in a good training rhythm now. Since I have my first race (1/2 marathon) coming up at the beginning of May I am training for that amidst my Tri training. It hasn't been that hard to train for both with the exception of the fact that my running has mostly been indoors on a treadmill. Did I ever mention I don't like treadmills? Yeah well I totally don't like treadmills! :-P
