OK so I've been meaning to write now for a few days but I've just been so busy or just too tired. Last weekend I worked at Suzanne's massive garage sale. 3am - 6pm. It really wasn't that bad except for when it started raining around 12:30. People still kept coming and digging under the tarps but after being wet, cold, tired, hungry....by 6:00 we were all really glad to be done! Final sales for the day $5,200.
Had a good swim Wed night followed by a nice 3 mile run. First block or two I still felt like I had to limp a little. My left leg/ankle is still having issues so I'm just trying to run carefully. Spoke with a doctor and he doesn't believe it's a stress fracture but also doesn't know really what else it could be. Not sure how comforting that is.
Tonight we had a team run at Calhoun. I ran with Dana in a high Zone 2/ low Zone 3 around Calhoun and Harriet. We did 6.80 miles in 1:04:50. I was pretty happy with that time considering it's probably the last run I will get before the Gear West Duathlon on Sunday. I haven't done a BRick workout yet so getting off the bike to run the last 5k should be interesting :) A lot of new faces were at the run tonight since it was beautiful running weather. Got to chat with a couple new people so that was cool. I know that I have been thinking a lot about our mission since yesterday because Kate (teammate) had very sad news. A good, long time friend of her dad just passed away from mylenoma. I guess it got him pretty quick and he leaves a family with 2 young children behind. Makes me sad just writing about it but really reminds me why we keep training and raising money. I plan to send out another fundraising update letter hopefully tomorrow. I'm currently in need of $2,600 more to reach my minimum for the two events. I have my big garage sale next week so I'm hoping that covers most of it.
Then it's off to Tahoe in two weeks. Yikes! That's coming up fast. But our team has been a lot of fun to train with and everyone is very supportive so it's going to be just a fun ride. I hear there are a TON of TNT people there from all over the US so that will make it all the more fun to meet the other groups.
OK off to bed for now and have to try to get up for swim tomorrow ;)
